Aston Green Dominated the first half from the whistle and within 10 minutes Anthony Pocock opened the scoring with a looping chip into the Top corner leaving the Engineers keeper stranded. Dion Day went on to score the second with a well finished strike from 6yrds, Justin Fox then put Green 3-0 up with lobbed effort on the edge of the box. Aston Green Continued to apply pressure to the Engineers back four and a badly timed tackle resulted in a Direct Free Kick. Dion Day drilled the ball into the area and a slight deflection saw Green increase their lead to 4-0. Engineers started to get back into the game a little and produced some good passing moves, but solid defending from Chris Walsh and Nathan Bennett made sure Engineers could not get back into it. Aston Green began to settle and Anthony Pococks Diving Header towards the end of the first half saw Green take a more than comfortable lead at the break. An Injury to Nathan Bennett forced Aston Green to make an early substitution and Damien Foote was brought on to Partner Anthony Pocock up front and Justin Fox moved into defense along side Chris Walsh. The second half saw a rejuvenated Engineers who from the off pressured Aston Green and scored 2 goals in quick succession. Aston Green increased their lead to 6-2 when Anthony Pocock was brought down in the area. Anthony placed the ball into the bottom right with a well taken penalty. Aston Green made a double substitution with Kris Foote replacing Kevin Pocock and Iain Clements replacing Anthony Pocock. In the last 15 minutes Aston were forced to play with 10 men as Dave Cunningham was carried off injured. Engineers then pushed 3 upfront and Aston were forced to defend with Damien Foote playing out of position at center back. Engineers went close on several occasions before they got their 3rd goal.
