Aston began the match in custom fashion and the pressure paid off early with a couple of half chances that seem to generate confidence within the Aston Team. Aston began to play some nice one-two balls and for the first time in weeks looked deadly in the top half of the pitch. Scott Richardson played in Chris Walsh who drilled home from the 8yrd box to put Green 1-0 up. Aston could have made it two when the North Star keeper pulled the ball back from behind the line, the Lineman and Ref were not up with play and the goal was disallowed. North Star had brief spells of which the Aston Back four did well to clear, North Star did eventually equalise when the opposing North Star player ran into an offside position and played was waved on for him to run the ball into an empty net after the whole back 4 stopped to protest the decision. Half time saw Justin Fox come on in place of Dion Day through injury and Aston again dominated in the first 10 minutes or so of the half and were rewarded when Dave Cunningham chipped the ball over their defence and Damien Foote managed to close down the keeper who spilt the ball and Damien Slotted home from a tight angle, Aston were back in front. Damien could have given Green a 2 goal lead when he went past the north star defence and appeared to be bundled over in the box, the ref waved play on. North Star continued to attack and Aston's Craig Richardson and man of the match Scott Richardson did well to stop any attack from turning into goals. North Star did eventually find a way through when the Green defence marked each other out allowing the North Star player to roll the ball home from just inside the box, sloppy defending and Aston again fail to hold on to a lead. Aston had a couple of chances to get the lead back with Justin Fox volleying just wide, but it wasn't Aston's day again as North Star managed to score two shock goals in the last 10 minutes.
