29/09/02 The Plough Vs Aston Green Christchurch Meadow
Result The Plough 1 - 2 Aston Green Aston Green started the game the better side and came close to goal on several occasions early on in the first half. Robert Pocock had the first real effort of the game and he watched on as his well taken free kick was just tipped over the bar by the Plough keeper. Green continued to Attack a weak Plough defense and were awarded a penalty when Damien Foote's goal bound header was deliberately handled inside the penalty area by a Plough defender. The player managed to stay on the pitch due to some poor refereeing and an Anthony Pocock penalty was comfortably saved. Green continued to push forward and were nearly rewarded with efforts from Justin Fox, Damien Foote and Anthony Pocock just missing the target. Plough also had chances at the other end but fine defending from Chris Walsh and Robert Pocock kept Green in the game. Second half saw a tactical change with Dion Pushing onto the Right Wing role and Dave moving into the center. The change paid off early with Dion Day's Cross come shot beating the keeper at the back post. Aston Green began to battle for that the victory and again fine keeping prevented Green taking a more convincing lead. Temperatures boiled when Anthony Pocock fed Damien Foote a fine through ball only for the Plough center back to commit a deliberate foul, Robert Pocock took the free kick and again the Plough keeper managed to prevent a goal. A couple of changes to the lineup saw Jasper Oijen replace Damien Foote and Kris Foote replaced James Sadler at Left Wing back. Plough began to keep a bit of possession and a misjudged tackle on the edge of the box resulted in a penalty kick in favor of the Plough. The Plough leveled the score with a well taken penalty. Aston Green continued to battle hard in midfield and Chris walsh was denied a fine goal after running though the whole Plough midfield from center back and seeing this 30yrd effort saved. A deflection off Jasper Oijen set Anthony Pocock on his way through on goal and despite off side protests Anthony calmly slotted the ball home to secure all three points. Subs Used:
