Before the game started Aston Green had the odds stacked against them with key players Anthony Pocock, Scott McAulay and Goalkeeper Mark Slade all missing from the starting lineup. Aston started with 10 men and Dion Day playing in an unusual position as Goalkeeper, from the off Green looked shaky at the back but a goal line clearance and some good defending from Chris Walsh prevented Chalfont from taking an early lead. Chalfont did eventually take the lead and scored another 5 before the break, with the score at half time standing at 6-0 and Aston Green facing an embarrassing defeat despite having the 2nd best defense in the league before this game. Second half saw Dion Day return to a familiar wing position and John Cassell playing in goal. Greens only goal came from Top scorer Dion Day who hit a 30yrd drive into the top corner of the goal leaving the keeper helpless. Chalfont went on to win the game 10-1 and proceeded to the next round of the Jack Taylor Cup.
